Scripture:
Philippians 2: 3-4 "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others."
Observation:
Paul is wise, there are so many individuals whose actions are based on selfishness or self indulgences. But yet, our Savior our God, lived a life of humility and humbling other before him. Putting others before him. Our God definitely look out for others interests before his. God wants us to reflect that life, by living a selfless and humbling life. That doesn't mean giving up everything, but our actions should come from our heart. The selfless and humbled life we choose to live should come from our heart and for the sake of God glory. Not to be in good terms with God. This mean even to put others interest even the ones who hurt you and you will see that God will reward you with greater gift. There much more to look for when you wait and work to God's will.
Application:
How often do we think we are giving person? Probably more then we should. But giving person? What does that mean? Buying and volunteering my time at times to help others. I think Paul is saying that this selflessness and humbling other before your pride comes from our heart and doing so we glorify God and also, our actions will be bring joy to God when it is sincere. I definitely need to work on this department, being able to put others especially those who are ignorant and hurtful is difficult for me, but through God's spirit and glory this can be done. God will stir my heart bring peace that I may be able to humble down to those who hurt my family.
Prayer:
God, give me the heart to be humble as you have been. Putting others before my conceded needs. Father it is especially hard to humble and lay out to those who have hurt us and brought so much pain in our family. Father God, I know you are healer and you will give me the conviction of forgiving and putting myself selflessly to others. Father I know you will provide and you will guide to give me sincerely to those who need. Father let me be faithful servant, use my flesh in your will and I may successfully execute your will Father. Father all the blessing in my life is gift from you, Father I want to give back, Father I am lost as to how to do so, Father my heart convict and cries out those children who are alone and in search of you, Father help me reach out to them, help me to find the path to reach out and serve them and guide them near your kingdom. In your precious name I pray amen.
