Scripture:
1: 9-11 "And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; 11 having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God"
Observation:
Paul points out where our heart should be when we pray. Despite his circumstances Paul had prayed and prayers were selfless. His prayer were were sincere and yearning more and more of God through his unfortunate circumstances. Will I be able to pray to God if I was to be imprison because of God? How would I be like if I were face with any discerning circumstance due to my religious rights or who I believe in? How faithful would I be? This is why Paul's prayer is amazing, the selfless and about of love he has through the difficult time. Through all this no heart to glorify God and praise him for all his love and glory. Application:
The conviction God has given me to serve the Children and to pray for the lost and reaching the lost, I need to prayer with selfless heart. Prayer should not be a obligation, but a seeking and yearning to learn more of our Father God and ways to communicate find myself in this world of lost. Disciple myself to prayer openly, not be timid but open to communicate and talk to God. God know everything we feel and history, just find refuge with time of prayer with God for he will answer and have much rewarding result at the end of the tunnel.
Prayer:
Father God, discipline me disciple me to be consistent prayer. Father despite any circumstance, bad or good, Father give me help me to pray and seek you in the time of just you and I. Father God, like your faithful servant Paul who praise you during his predicament, he prayed to praise you and lift you, Father help me to be that convicted in my heart. Father guide me and teach me to define my time of prayer with you better. Father God thank you for the awesome love and blessing, we take this small things for granted, when there are so many more who are suffering and struggle, yet you have provided more then enough. Father God, discipline me to be faithful servant of prayer. Not just servant of words and action, but servant of prayer as well. Father in your precious and glorious name amen.
